Welcome to the Social Inequality Lab

The Social Inequality Lab investigates the psychological processes underlying social decision-making, with a focus on poverty. Through experimental research, we study how inequality shapes both fundamental and applied decision-making processes. We also develop and test interventions aimed at improving the well-being of people in poverty, working in close collaboration with governmental and NGO partners to translate scientific insights into real-world policy.

We are based at the department of Social, Economic, and Organisational Psychology at Leiden University.
